How to pair a temperature probe with the Jolt app

Learn how to set up and pair a temperature probe with the Jolt app. Temperature probes record temperature readings while you complete lists in the Jolt app.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure that your temperature probe is fully charged or has fresh batteries.

  • Confirm that the Jolt App is installed on your device and is updated to the latest version.

Instructions

  1. Open the Jolt App on your mobile device.

  2. Log in to you Jolt account.

  3. Go to the main menu and navigate to tools.

  4. Tap the tools icon then select temperature probe from the list of available tools.

  5. Next, turn on the temperature probe by pressing the power button. Ensure it is in pairing mode (refer to the probe manual if needed).

  6. Place the probe within range of your mobile device. Typically, a distance of a few feet should be sufficient.

  7. On the temperature screen in the Jolt app, you will see a message that says turn on probe.

  8. Wait for the app to detect the probe (this may take a few seconds).

  9. Once the probe is detected, it will automatically connect to the Jolt app, and the status will change to ready.

  10. You can adjust temperature probe settings within the Jolt App, which might include calibration settings or unit preferences (Celsius/Fahrenheit).

Troubleshooting

Probe isn't connecting

  1. Tap on select probe to manually search for available probes.

  2. If the probe does not appear, ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and that the probe is in pairing mode.

  3. If the probe still does not connect, try turning the probe off and on, then repeat the connection process.

Mobile device is not paired to probe

  1. If it shows your mobile device has paired with the probe in Bluetooth settings, but it doesn't work, check your settings.

  2. Go to your Bluetooth settings on your mobile device.

  3. Tap on the option to forget the device (the probe) and try reconnecting.

Helpful Tips:

  • Keep your device and probe within close proximity to avoid disconnection issues.

  • Regularly check for updates in the Jolt app to ensure compatibility with your probe.

  • Consult your probe's user manual for specific instructions related to the probe model.
