Jolt Sensor Dashboards: A Comprehensive Guide

Overview Jolt Sensor Dashboards provide crucial insights into sensor data, allowing you to monitor and manage sensor performance effectively. Depending on your role and permissions, you may access different types of dashboards: the Multi-location Dashboard and the Single Location Dashboard.

Access Requirements To view sensor dashboards in the Jolt Web Portal:

  • You need sensor admin or location admin permissions.

  • Alternatively, Content Group Admin or Company Admin access in your personal profile permissions is required.

Multi-Location Dashboard

Purpose:

  • Designed for an overview of sensor information across multiple locations.

  • Offers a high-level summary for the entire organization.

  • Allows sorting of locations by the priority of alerts to address the most critical issues first.

Features:

  • Displays data from all locations you have access to based on your permissions.

  • Adapts to user permissions to show only data from permitted locations.

Location Overview:

  • This section provides a high-level status update on all locations you can access.

  • The dashboard includes four columns representing different sensor statuses:

    • Critical Status

    • Warning Status

    • Disconnected Status

    • Low Battery Status

Understanding Statuses:

  • Critical Status: Indicates an urgent issue; sensors with this status are not counted in the Warning Status column.

  • Warning Status: Shows less urgent issues but important to address.

  • Disconnected Status: Appears if a sensor has not sent a recent reading.

  • Low Battery Status: Indicates sensors with battery issues.

Special Notes:

  • If a location has only one sensor in a status, the sensor’s name will be displayed instead of the number.

  • Sensors with active alerts but no recent readings show a disconnect icon instead of temperature/humidity.

  • For more details, select the sensor to view the temperature or humidity at the time it was disconnected.

Single Location Dashboard

Purpose:

  • Provides a detailed view of sensor data at a single location.

  • Suitable for users with sensor admin access for only one location.

Features:

  • Accessible by selecting a location from the Multi-location Dashboard’s Location Overview.

  • The mobile app supports this version of the dashboard and requires switching locations to view data from other sites.

Needs Attention Section

Purpose:

  • Highlights potential issues that may not have active alerts but still require attention.

Examples:

  • Sensors and gateways that haven't had a reading for more than 75 minutes but do not have active alerts.

  • Newly added sensors or gateways that fail to connect within 2 hours.

  • Sensors with rapid battery drain warnings.

FAQ

Q: What do the different statuses on the Multi-location Dashboard indicate? A: The statuses are:

  • Critical: Urgent issues requiring immediate action.

  • Warning: Less urgent issues that still need addressing.

  • Disconnected: Sensors that have not sent recent readings.

  • Low Battery: Sensors with battery issues.

Q: How can I view details about a specific sensor’s alert? A: Click on the sensor to view its details page. This page will show the temperature or humidity readings at the time the sensor was disconnected, if applicable.

Q: What should I do if a sensor appears in the "Needs Attention" section? A: Investigate the issue as the sensor or gateway might not be functioning properly. Check if it hasn’t sent readings recently or if there are connection issues.

Q: Can I access data from multiple locations on the mobile app? A: No, the mobile app supports only the Single Location Dashboard. To view data from multiple locations, use the Multi-location Dashboard on the web portal.

Q: What actions are required if a sensor shows a "Needs Attention" alert? A: Address the underlying issue, such as reconnecting a sensor that hasn’t sent readings or replacing batteries if there are rapid drains.
