1. Update Your Jolt App
Why: An outdated app might cause connectivity issues.
How to Update:
iPad or apple device
Open your device's App store
Search for "Jolt"
Open the Jolt app and check to see if it is due for an update.
Android device:
Open Chrome and go to website ( jps.jolt.com)
Click the second option "Update Jolt" and will showing instruction show how to update the app.
2. Update Your Device’s Operating System
Why: An old operating system can cause compatibility problems.
How to Update: ( This is just General instruction but different device has different way to update finding the instruction capable to use device. )
Open Settings on your device.
Tap General.
Select Software Update.
Follow the prompts to install any available updates.
3. Understand Connection Types
Bluetooth:
Note: Bluetooth connections can be unreliable and Bluetooth can only store up to 16 pairings devices , but only one device can be actively connected at a time.
Tip: For a more stable connection, use Wi-Fi instead. If you must use Bluetooth, follow the troubleshooting steps in the Bluetooth Troubleshooting article.
Wi-Fi:
Recommended: Provides a stable connection.
Tip: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is a private or password-protected with 2.4GHz network. ( Tablet and printer should be under the same network)
4. Check Your Wi-Fi Network
Why: Jolt Zebra printer only connects to 2.4GHz networks.
How to Check:
Confirm your Wi-Fi network is set to 2.4GHz, not 5GHz.
Make sure your iPad or device is connected to same network.
5. Turn Off Bluetooth on Other Devices
Why: Bluetooth from other devices can interfere with your Wi-Fi connection.
How to Do It:
Turn off Bluetooth on all nearby devices, even those not using Jolt.
Try connecting your printer again after disabling Bluetooth.
6. Perform Printer Factory Reset
Why: Resets can help restore the printer to its default settings or resolve issues with print jobs.
Factory Reset steps:
Unplug power-cord from back of printer
Press and hold power button for 30 second
Plug power cable back to printer
Press and holding the pause and feed buttons ( left and middle button)
Turn on the printer, press the power button one time
When diamond light is on, release buttons (you should see blank labels spit out)
Wait for Diamond light to turn green
7. Perform Network Reset
Why: Network Rest help restore the printer network back to default, so we can reconnect to WiFi or network.
How to network reset:
Turn off printer, by holding the power button until all the light is gone
Press and hold pause and cancel button ( left and right button )
Turn on the pinter, press the power button one time
When diamond light turning green then release all the buttons
if network lights (three boxes with one line icon) is green repeat the process again, if network light is red then success reset the printer network
8. Try Another Device
Why: This helps determine if the issue is with the printer or the device.
How to check:
Use a different device to see if the printer connects.
If the printer connects to a different device, the issue might be with your original device.
Additional Tips
Private Network: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is private or password-protected for security.
Minimize Interference: Turn off or move away other electronic devices that might be causing interference.
