Before Getting Started
Please ensure that you have the correct printhead model for your Jolt printer.
The model number is found on the front of the printer lid.
ZD410 or ZD411
Tools You Will Need
A replacement printhead for your specific printer model.
A flathead screwdriver may be needed to gain leverage when removing the printhead. Make sure you have one on hand.
Step 1 - Power Off Your Printer
Power off your printer by pressing and holding the power button until the lights on the device turn off.
Because you will be replacing a part inside the printer, it is important to also unplug the JPS unit from the power outlet.
Step 2 - Open the Printer Lid and Locate the Printhead
To open the printer lid, pull the yellow tabs on either side of the lid toward you and swing the printer open.
The printhead is located on the bottom of the lid.
Step 3 - Remove the Printhead from the Retention Clip
The printhead is held in on the right side by a retention clip. Move the clip out of the way and remove the printhead from the printhead recess.
If you need to use the flathead screwdriver to gain leverage, make sure you do so gently.
Step 4 - Remove Data Wires from Printhead
First, remove the black wire from the top of the printhead. There may be some friction when removing this wire — that's normal.
After pulling the black cable from the top of the device, gently remove the orange data cables on the left and right of the printhead.
Step 5 - Install the New Printhead
You will notice that the new printhead has small metal pins. Be careful not to bend these pins when handling the printhead.
Plug the data cables into the printhead with the flat side facing down toward the labels (parallel with the floor), then plug the black wire back in on the top of the printhead.
Completing the Reinstall
After reconnecting the data cables, place the printhead back into the printhead recess and make sure the retention clip snaps into the proper position.
