The ZT111 Printer may display Ribbon errors when:
The Ribbon is not loaded in the proper orientation
The Ribbon is out and needs to be replaced
The Ribbon may be damaged
Proper orientation
Please see the above guide to ensure that your ribbon is in the proper orientation and that the printhead lever is completely down and perpendicular to the ground. You can see this image on the inside of the Media Door.
Ribbon Out or Damaged
If the Ribbon is out or damaged you will see a red STATUS light, yellow PAUSE light, a red NETWORK light, and a blinking red SUPPLIES light.
Remove the Ribbon
Step 1 - Open the printhead.
Step 2 - Carefully remove the ribbon return spool.
Step 3 - Carefully remove the Ribbon Spool.
Replace the Ribbon
Step 1 - Place the new ribbon spool and guide the ribbon around the printhead in the proper orientation to the ribbon return spool.
Step 2 - Ensure the ribbon is pulled evenly onto the ribbon return spool by using a gentle clockwise motion.
Step 3 - Close the printhead firmly
**PLEASE NOTE** If you don't completely close the printhead, you may see a Head Open Error on your ZT111 printer, and the calibration will not be able to complete. The printhead should click TWICE when closed properly and the printhead assembly lever should be perpendicular to the ground.
