Changing Device Configuration

This article will guide you through changing a Jolt-connected device from a multi-user configuration to a single-user configuration and vice versa.

Requirements (Before You Start)

  1. Understand Device Modes:

    • Single-User Device: Displays a profile image or initials in the top right.

    • Multi-User Device: Displays "Log In"

  2. Determine Your Current Mode:

    • Check the top right button on your device to see its current configuration.

Switching from Multi-User to Single-User Device

  1. Launch Jolt and Log In:

    • Use an account with at least device admin permissions (e.g., Location website admin, Content group admin, Company admin).

  2. Navigate to Settings:

    • Open the Jolt menu.

    • Tap Settings > About.

  3. Disconnect from Location:

    • Tap the 3-dot More Options button in the top right.

    • Select Disconnect from Location in the bottom tray.

    • Confirm by tapping Reset.

  4. Reset the App:

    • After the reset, you will be on the Sign In screen.

    • Hard close and relaunch the Jolt app.

  5. Sign In and Configure:

    • Tap Sign In, enter your username and password, and tap Continue.

    • Select your location.

    • Choose Single-user device and tap Continue.

    • Tap Start download. Once the initial sync finishes, the device is set as a single-user device.

Switching from Single-User to Multi-User Device

  1. Sign Out:

    • Launch the Jolt app.

    • Tap the profile icon in the top right.

    • Tap Sign Out at the bottom of the screen and confirm.

  2. Reset the App:

    • After signing out, you will land on the Sign In screen.

    • Hard close and relaunch the Jolt app.

  3. Connect as Multi-User Device:

    • Option 1: Sign In Method

      • Tap Sign In, enter your username and password, and tap Continue.

      • Select your location.

      • Choose Multi-user device and tap Continue.

      • Tap Start download. Once the initial sync finishes, the device is set as a multi-user device.

    • Option 2: Connect to a Location Method

      • On the Sign In screen, tap Connect to a location.

      • Scan the QR code for your location.

      • Tap Start download. Once the initial sync finishes, the device is set as a multi-user device.
