How to Use Display Criteria for Lists in Jolt

Overview:

The Display Criteria feature in Jolt allows you to set conditions for when specific items in your lists should appear. This advanced feature helps customize your workflows by making some items dependent on the results of others. Note that this feature is available only with a Lists Plus Subscription and requires Website Admin, Company Admin, or Content Group Admin access.

Key Terms:

  • Display Criteria: Conditional logic that determines when an item should appear in your list based on the result of another item.

  • Trigger Items: Items that set the condition for displaying other items. These can be Yes/No, Rating, or Measurement items.

Examples:

  1. Photo Item Example: Show a photo item only if the "Is everything set up properly?" question is answered with "No."

  2. Food Safety Example: Adjust the number of measurement items displayed based on the number of beef patties entered.

How to Set Up Display Criteria:

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure you have Website Admin, Company Admin, or Content Group Admin access.

  • You must have a Lists Plus Subscription to use this feature.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Log in to the Jolt Web Portal:

    • Navigate to the Jolt Web Portal.

  2. Open Your List:

    • Go to Lists > Edit Lists.

    • Select the list that contains the items you want to configure.

  3. Select the Item for Display Criteria:

    • Choose the item that you want to appear conditionally (e.g., "Grill #1").

  4. Access Display Criteria Settings:

    • At the bottom of the General Options panel, find the dropdown box labeled Display Criteria.

  5. Set the Trigger for Displaying the Item:

    • From the dropdown menu, select the item prompt text that will act as the trigger (e.g., "Enter the number of Patties to Temp").

    • Enter the value that will trigger the display of this item.

  6. Save Your Settings:

    • Click Save to apply the display criteria to your list.

  7. Verify in the Jolt App:

    • Open the Jolt app and navigate to the list. The item with display criteria will not show until the condition set is met.

    • Enter a value that satisfies the display criteria for the item you configured. The hidden item should now display automatically.

Tips:

  • You can set up multiple measurement items with different display criteria based on your needs. For instance, if you test up to 4 patties, create up to 4 measurement items with the relevant criteria.

  • If you need assistance, refer to the Jolt app help section or contact support for guidance on advanced configurations.
