Time Clock Settings | Jolt Web Portal
Overview:
This guide will walk you through how to view and edit Time Clock settings on the Jolt Web Portal. Adjusting these settings helps manage employee clock-in and clock-out times, ensuring accurate time tracking and payroll.
Prerequisites:
To view and edit Time Clock settings, you must have one of the following admin roles: Location Website Admin, Content Group Admin, or Company Admin.
Accessing Time Clock Settings:
Log in to the Jolt Web Portal:
Go to Jolt Web Portal and enter your login credentials.
Navigate to Settings > Locations.
Select the desired Location Name from the list.
Locate Time Clock Settings:
Scroll down to the Time Clock Settings section.
Configuring Time Clock Settings:
Allow Manual Punches:
Description: Allows employees to manually enter clock punches on their device.
Purpose: Useful if employees forget to clock in or out. These manual entries will be flagged and can be reviewed and approved from the Web Portal.

Maximum Shift Length (in hours):
Description: Sets the maximum duration an employee can be clocked in.
Purpose: If an employee is clocked in for longer than this duration, the punch will be flagged.
Review Flagged Punches: Go to People > Time Clock to review flagged punches.
Align Punches to Schedule:
Description: Flags punches that occur before or after the scheduled shift times.
Options:
Block Early Punches: Prevents employees from clocking in before the allowed time window. Device Admins can override this setting if necessary.
Punch Window (in minutes): Creates a time window before and after the scheduled shift start and end times where punches will be flagged.
Pay Period Settings:
Description: Defines the frequency of payroll processing.
Options:
Weekly: Payroll is processed once a week.
First Day of Pay Period: Choose the starting day of the week for the pay period.
Every 2 Weeks: Payroll is processed every two weeks.
Next Period Start Date: Select the day of the month when the two-week pay period begins.
Monthly: Payroll is processed once a month.
First Day of Pay Period: Select the day of the month for the start of the pay period.
Twice Monthly: Payroll is processed twice a month.
1st Period Start Date & 2nd Period Start Date: Choose the specific days of the month for the two pay periods.
Tips for Managing Time Clock Settings:
Regularly review flagged punches to ensure accuracy.
Adjust settings as needed to align with company policies and payroll requirements.
Use the Block Early Punches feature to prevent potential misuse of clock-in times.
