How to Calibrate Your Temperature Probe

Calibration ensures that your temperature probe gives accurate readings. Follow these steps to calibrate your probe and make sure it's working correctly.

Before You Start

  1. Check the Probe

    • Ensure the probe's tip is securely attached.

    • Make sure the probe’s batteries are new and fully charged.

Calibration Steps

  1. Prepare an Ice Bath

    • Fill a Cup with Ice: Add ice cubes to a cup.

    • Add Water: Fill the cup with cold water, mixing it with the ice. Let it sit for a moment to ensure it reaches the freezing point.

  2. Open the Jolt App

    • Go to Tools: Open the Jolt App on your device.

    • Select Temperature: Navigate to the "Tools" section and choose "Temperature."

  3. Turn On the Probe

    • Press the Power Button: Turn on the temperature probe by pressing its power button.

  4. Calibrate the Probe

    • Insert the Probe: Place the probe into the ice water.

    • Stir Gently: Stir the probe in the water to ensure even temperature distribution.

    • Wait for Reading: Allow a few moments for the temperature to stabilize.

  5. Check the Reading

    • Verify Temperature: The reading should be 32°F (0°C). A small variation of ±0.8°F (±0.4°C) is acceptable.

    • If Out of Range: If the reading is not within the acceptable range, the probe may be faulty.

What to Do if Calibration Fails

  • Faulty Probe: If the reading is not accurate or within the acceptable range, your probe might be defective.

  • Contact Support: If your probe is still under warranty, contact Jolt Technical Support for assistance or to request a replacement.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your temperature probe is accurately calibrated and ready for use. If you encounter any issues or need further help, don't hesitate to reach out to Jolt Technical Support.
