LoRa Gateway Connectivity Troubleshooting Checklist
Step 1: Check Gateway Status
Ensure the Status indicator on the gateway is illuminated.
Verify that the power cable is securely plugged in.
Confirm that the network cable is connected to a working port.
Step 2: Verify Network Connection
Check that your network is connected to the internet.
Ensure the gateway is plugged into the correct network port.
Step 3: Whitelist Jolt (If Using a Firewall)
Confirm that ports 80 and 443 are whitelisted on your firewall.
Contact your network administrator or internet provider if needed.
Step 4: Restart the Gateway
Disconnect the power adapter from the gateway.
Wait 10 seconds.
Reconnect the power adapter.
Allow 5-10 minutes for the gateway to reconnect to Jolt.
Step 5: Remove and Re-add the Gateway
From the Jolt App or Web Portal:
Tap the gateway.
Tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner.
Select Delete/Deactivate.
Re-add the gateway:
Tap the “+” icon.
Select Gateway.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Wait about 10 minutes to check if the gateway reconnects.
Step 6: Check Connection Status
In the Jolt app or web portal, tap on the gateway.
Verify that the gateway shows a recent reading (less than 5 minutes old).
Open and close the app to ensure it is in sync and up-to-date.
Step 7: Contact Jolt Support
If the gateway still isn’t connecting, reach out to Jolt Support for further assistance.
Additional Tips
Update Firmware:
Ensure the gateway’s firmware is up to date. Refer to the manufacturer’s documentation for updating instructions.
Optimize Sensor Placement:
Ensure sensors are within the effective range of the gateway and not obstructed.
Verify Network Configuration:
Confirm that the gateway’s IP address and port settings match the requirements specified by Jolt.
Minimize Interference:
Ensure there are no other devices or sources of interference affecting the gateway.
Check Power Supply:
Verify that the gateway is receiving a stable power supply and that the power adapter is functioning correctly.
Review Logs:
If available, check the gateway’s logs for any error messages or warnings.
Factory Reset (If Necessary):
Perform a factory reset on the gateway as a last resort. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Important Reminder:
If the gateway is offline and sensors are activated, put the sensors to sleep as follows:
JRB 004 and JRB 301: Remove the battery.
L01, LRTD01: Remove the batteries.
DLHT65: Press the ACT button 5 times rapidly until you see a long red light.
