How to Create Labels and Categories in Jolt
Creating Labels and Categories in Jolt helps you organize and manage your labeling system efficiently. Follow these steps to set up categories and labels for your devices.
Prerequisites
To use the Labeling features in Jolt, ensure you have:
A subscription that includes Jolt Labeling.
Location Website Admin, Content Group Admin, or Company Admin access in the Jolt web portal.
Note: Templates and categories must be created before you create labels. To learn how to import labels in bulk, see the Bulk Import Labels article.
Instructions
Log In to the Jolt Web Portal
Go to Labeling and then Labels.
Create a New Category
Click on the Categories tab.
Click + New Category.
Enter a Category Name and choose a Color. (The color helps with visual organization in the Jolt app, but is not used for printing labels.)
Click Save.
Create a New Label
Go to the Labels tab.
Click + New Label.
Enter a Label Name and select a Category from the dropdown menu.
Choose a Template. (Templates define the layout and fields for the label.)
Fill in the Available Fields based on the selected template. (Fields vary depending on the template.)
Add an Optional Note
You can add a note for informational purposes only. This note will not appear on the label itself.
Preview Your Label
Review the Label Preview to ensure all information is correct.
Save Your Label
Click Save to finalize and store your new label.
