FAQ: List Item Types for Creating Lists

Q1: What are List Item Types?

A1: List Item Types are different options available when creating a list on Jolt. Each type serves a specific purpose and helps you customize your lists according to your needs. You can use a combination of these item types in your lists.

Q2: What are the Standard List Item Types?

A2: Standard List Item Types include:

  • Checkmark: To complete the task, you need to check the box.

  • Yes/No: To complete the task, select either "Yes" or "No."

  • Signature: To complete the task, sign your name.

Q3: What are Drop Down List Item Types?

A3: Drop Down List Item Types include:

  • Employee: Select an employee from the dropdown list. This option can be filtered in the Browse Lists. For more details, refer to the article on Person Filter | Browse Lists.

  • Multiple Choice: Choose an option from the dropdown list. Templates for this type can be saved and used for other lists. See Multiple Choice Templates for more information.

Q4: What are Open Ended List Item Types?

A4: Open Ended List Item Types include:

  • Free Response: Provides a space for a response with no character limit.

  • Short Entry: Allows a response with a maximum of 75 characters.

Q5: What are Multimedia List Item Types?

A5: Multimedia List Item Types include:

  • Photo: Take a picture to complete this task. For setup, refer to How to Setup and Use Photo Items on Lists.

  • QR Codes: Scan a QR code to complete this task. The QR code is generated on the Web Portal. Learn more in Print QR Codes.

Q6: What are Numeric List Item Types?

A6: Numeric List Item Types include:

  • Measurement: Enter a value using the numeric pad, Bluetooth probe, or Remote Temperature Sensor. Refer to Measurement List Item for more details.

  • Rating 1-5: Select a number between 1 and 5.

  • Rating 1-10: Select a number between 1 and 10.

  • Rating (Custom): Choose any numbers between 1 and 10 to display as options. This can be used in conditional display equations for measurement items.

  • Formula: Perform simple calculations using other numeric items as variables.

Q7: What are Date/Time List Item Types?

A7: Date/Time List Item Types include:

  • Date: Select a date from the calendar.

  • Time: Select a time from the clock.

  • Date-Time: Select both a date and time from the calendar/clock.

  • Stopwatch: Start and stop the stopwatch to capture the duration.

Q8: What are Read Only List Item Types?

A8: Read Only List Item Types include:

  • Text: Provides informational text that does not require completion. Useful for instructions or descriptions.

  • Subtitle: Helps categorize a group of list items without requiring task completion.

Q9: What is the Sublist Item Type?
