List Item Types for Creating Lists on Jolt

When creating lists on Jolt, you have various List Item Types to choose from. Each type serves a specific purpose and allows you to customize your lists effectively. Below is an overview of the different List Item Types available, along with their functionalities.

1. Standard List Item Types

  • Checkmark: This item requires you to check a box to complete the task. It is useful for simple, binary tasks that need confirmation.

  • Yes/No: For tasks that need a clear yes or no response, this item type allows you to select either option to complete the task.

  • Signature: This item requires you to sign your name to confirm task completion. It’s ideal for tasks that need an official acknowledgment.

2. Drop Down List Item Types

  • Employee: Select an employee from a dropdown list to complete the task. This type supports filtering in the Browse Lists feature. For more information, see the Person Filter | Browse Lists article.

  • Multiple Choice: Choose an option from a dropdown list. Templates for multiple-choice items can be saved and used for other lists with similar choices. Learn more about Multiple Choice Templates.

3. Open Ended List Item Types

  • Free Response: Provides a space for entering text with no character limit. This is useful for detailed responses or notes.

  • Short Entry: Allows a response with a maximum of 75 characters. This is suitable for brief inputs or comments.

4. Multimedia List Item Types

  • Photo: To complete this task, take a picture using your device. For setup instructions, refer to the How to Setup and Use Photo Items on Lists article.

  • QR Codes: Scan a QR code to complete the task. The QR code is generated on the Web Portal. For more details, see Print QR Codes.

  • Barcode: Scan a barcode to complete the task. For guidance, refer to How to Setup and Use QR or Barcode Items on Lists.

5. Numeric List Item Types

  • Measurement: Enter a numeric value using the numeric pad, Bluetooth probe, or Remote Temperature Sensor. For more information, see Measurement List Item.

  • Rating 1-5: Select a rating between 1 and 5.

  • Rating 1-10: Select a rating between 1 and 10.

  • Rating (Custom): Customize the rating scale by choosing any numbers between 1 and 10. This can be used in conditional display equations on measurement items.

  • Formula: Perform simple calculations within your list using numeric items as variables. This is useful for tasks requiring arithmetic operations.

6. Date/Time List Item Types

  • Date: Select a date from a calendar.

  • Time: Select a time from a clock.

  • Date-Time: Choose both a date and time from a calendar/clock.

  • Stopwatch: Start and stop the stopwatch to capture the duration of a task.

7. Read Only List Item Types

  • Text: This item provides informational text that does not require task completion. It’s useful for instructions, descriptions, or clarifications.

  • Subtitle: Helps categorize and group related list items. It does not require task completion but aids in organizing the list.

8. Sublist Item Type

  • Sub List: This item type organizes longer lists by adding a secondary list within the main list. It helps reduce the size of the primary list and makes it more manageable. For more details, see Sub List Item.
