FAQ: Shift Drop & Pickup Requests

Q: What are Shift Drop & Pickup Requests in Jolt?

A: Shift Drop & Pickup Requests allow employees to manage their shifts when they face scheduling conflicts. Employees can submit a request to drop a shift they can't work, and other employees can request to pick up the dropped shift. Managers must approve these pickup requests.


Q: How do I submit a Shift Drop Request in Jolt?

A: Follow these steps to submit a Shift Drop Request:

  1. Open the Jolt App: Log in to your account and select the "Schedule" option from the menu to access the Schedule Dashboard.

  2. Access Shift Details: Find the shift you want to drop. You can select it from the "Next Shifts" section or "View All Shifts" section. Tap on the shift to open its details.

  3. Drop the Shift: In the Shift Details Page, tap the More Options menu (three dots) in the top-right corner and select "Drop Shift."

  4. Provide a Reason: Enter a reason for dropping the shift and tap "Submit."

    • You will remain responsible for the shift until another employee requests to pick it up and a manager approves it.

  5. Manage Your Request: After submitting, you can view the details and cancel the drop request if needed.

Q: How do I pick up a dropped shift?

A: To pick up a dropped shift, follow these steps:

  1. View Available Shifts: On the Dashboard, go to the "Pickups" section, which shows shifts that have been dropped by other employees.

    Request to Pick Up: Find the shift you are interested in and tap "Request Pickup."

    • Ensure that picking up the shift does not conflict with your existing schedule.

  2. Await Approval: Your pickup request will need to be approved by a Scheduling Manager.

A: Managers with admin permissions can approve or deny pickup requests by:

  1. Access the Manage Tab: Open the Jolt App, go to "Schedule," and then navigate to the "Manage" tab.

  2. Review Pending Requests: Look for "Pending Approvals" in the Pending section.
