How to Assign Specific Tasks to Employees in the Jolt App

Overview: Assigning specific tasks to employees in the Jolt App helps streamline task management and ensures accountability. Follow these steps to assign tasks effectively.

Prerequisites:

  • You must be logged into the Jolt App with appropriate permissions.

  • Ensure you have the necessary admin rights to manage lists and assignments.

Steps to Assign Tasks:

  1. Open the Jolt App:

    • Launch the Jolt app on your tablet and log in using your 4-digit PIN.

  2. Access the Lists:

    • From the app menu, select Lists.

  3. Manage Lists:

    • Click on Manage.

      • Note: If Manage is greyed out, you may not have the required permissions or you may not be logged in.

  4. Assign Tasks:

    • Click the drop-down arrow next to Assign To: and select Employee.

      • Choose the employee who will be responsible for completing the task.

  5. Choose Assignment Type:

    • Temporary Assignment:

      • This will assign the employee to the current instance of the list only. The employee will need to be reassigned for future instances.

    • Permanent Assignment:

      • This assigns the employee to all future instances of this list. The employee will automatically be assigned to the list every time it is displayed.

    • Can’t Assign to…:

      • Use this option to prevent a specific employee from completing this particular list instance. This ensures that employees who do not have the appropriate permissions are excluded.

Completing the Assignment:

  1. Employee View:

    • When employees log into the app and go to Lists > Mine, they will see all tasks specifically assigned to them.

  2. Task Management:

    • Employees can view their assigned tasks, complete them, and update their status as required.

Viewing and Tracking Assignments:

  1. Manager View:

    • On the Home page, managers can see the number of tasks assigned to each employee and track when tasks are due.

    • This feature is helpful for managers to quickly assess if tasks are completed and determine if an employee can be released at the end of their shift.
