Understanding List Submission Settings
In Jolt, you can set up your lists to be either forms or checklists, and the settings to control this functionality have been updated. Here’s a simple guide to help you understand how to use these settings.
What is List Submission?
When setting up a list, you have two main options for how it can be submitted:
Submit After All Items Are Completed
How It Works: You must complete every required item on the list before you can submit the entire list as complete.
Important Note: Items marked as "N/A" (Not Applicable) or "OOO" (Out of Order) are not required to be completed before submitting the list. These items will automatically be marked as "N/A" or "OOO" when you submit the list if they are not completed.
Submit Individual Items as They Are Completed (Sweep)
How It Works: This setting allows you to submit each item individually as you complete them. The list can be submitted in parts rather than waiting for the entire list to be finished.
Default Setting: This is the default option when creating a new checklist.
Bump Lists
The Bump Lists feature helps manage how lists appear on your schedule:
Purpose: This feature decides whether a new list should replace the old one or be added on top of it.
For Forms: If a list is scheduled to repeat (like daily or weekly tasks), it will stack on top of the old list until completed. This means you’ll have multiple instances of the list until they are all done.
For Checklists: A new checklist will replace the previous one when the schedule updates.
Recommended Use: Enable Bump Lists for recurring tasks such as cleaning schedules, food safety checks, closing procedures, and any other repetitive tasks.
When to Use Bump Lists
Active Lists: If you have lists scheduled to repeat regularly, like daily or weekly checklists, turning on Bump Lists ensures that your new lists replace the old ones automatically.
Inactive Lists: If you don’t have recurring schedules (like disciplinary action forms or incident reports), this feature won’t be needed.
Summary
Submit After All Items Are Completed: Complete everything before submitting the list.
Submit Individual Items as They Are Completed (Sweep): Submit each item as you finish it.
Bump Lists: Enable for recurring lists to manage how they appear on your schedule.

Troubleshooting List Display Issues
Common Reasons for List Display Issues
Changes were saved but not published correctly.
Certain configuration settings, such as the 'Bump Lists' option, might prevent lists from displaying.
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
Ensure Changes Are Published Correctly
After saving changes to a list, locate the 'More Options' menu directly to the right of the Save button.
Select Publish Changes or Publish Now from the Edit List page.
Wait for the confirmation message indicating that changes have been successfully published. Note: Using Publish Now ensures immediate updates, while skipping this step may leave changes queued for overnight publishing.
Check the 'Bump Lists' Setting
Open the configuration settings for your list.
Check whether the 'Bump Lists' checkbox is selected. If it is, uncheck it.
Save and publish your changes again.
Confirm that the list displays automatically at the scheduled time.
Best Practices to Avoid Future Issues
Always double-check that changes are not only saved but also published.
Periodically review list settings, especially options like 'Bump Lists,' to ensure compatibility with your requirements.
Use the Publish Now option for immediate updates when urgency is required. For troubleshooting tips on list display issues, refer to the new 'Troubleshooting List Display Issues' section.
