How to Schedule and Use Breaks in Jolt

This guide will help you set up breaks for employees using the Jolt Web Portal and the Jolt App.

Admin Access Required

To schedule breaks, you need one of the following admin roles:

  • Location Website Admin

  • Content Group Admin

  • Company Admin

Setting Up Breaks in the Jolt Web Portal

1. Enable Breaks:

  1. Log In:

    • Open the Jolt Web Portal and log in with your admin credentials.

  2. Go to Location Settings:

    • Navigate to Settings > Locations and select the location you want to configure.

  3. Enable Unpaid Breaks:

    • Under Scheduling Settings, check the box for Allow Unpaid Breaks.

  4. Set Default Break Length:

    • Optionally, set a Default Break Length (in minutes) to streamline schedule creation.

  5. Save Changes:

    • Click Save to apply the changes.

2. Scheduling Breaks:

  1. Navigate to Scheduling:

    • Go to Scheduling > Schedule.

  2. Create Shifts:

    • Build a schedule by creating shifts for employees. Assign break times as needed for each shift.

  3. Monitor Labor Forecasting:

    • Review labor forecasting updates as you build the schedule to track labor costs for the day.

Using Breaks in the Jolt App

Once breaks are set up and the Jolt App is installed, employees can clock in and out for breaks as follows:

1. Start a Break:

  1. Log In:

    • Open the Jolt App on your device and select your profile.

  2. Enter PIN:

    • Input your 4-digit PIN to access your profile.

  3. Take a Picture:

    • Take a photo as required.

  4. Start Break:

    • Tap START BREAK. A confirmation message will appear.

  5. Check Status:

    • During a break, your status will show as BRK in yellow.

2. End a Break:

  1. Log In Again:

    • Select your profile and enter your 4-digit PIN.

  2. Check Break Time:

    • View the break time used and remaining time for the day.

  3. End Break:

    • Tap END BREAK. A confirmation message will appear.
