How to import assets from a CSV
First, you will need to export a CSV spreadsheet. Log in to the Jolt web app then navigate to lists > asset management.
Select the asset type from the dropdown list then click more options in the top right corner.
Select export then choose the CSV option. By default, the CSV file should export to your Downloads folder. If you are unsure about this, please contact your IT department.
Click save. Your download should finish within a few seconds.
Locate the CSV file in your downloads folder on your local device, then open it as a spreadsheet.
Refer to your list of assets that you manage in a spreadsheet. This is your source spreadsheet. Copy and paste your asset data from your source spreadsheet into the exported spreadsheet.
To format different item types:
Yes/No — enter the full word yes or no in the column.
Multiple choice — Ensure all values in the column are valid multiple-choice options.
Person — Use the user’s Jolt account email address (not notification email address). The import will look up the person using the email address.
Short entry — Accepts all numbers, letters, and special characters (70-character limit).
Date/Time — Use the format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM AM/PM (e.g., 05/01/2025 01:30 PM).
Text — Same as short entry.
Save the spreadsheet as a CSV file.
Go back to the Jolt web app and navigate to asset management.
Select the asset type you exported the CSV file.
In the top right corner, click the more options button, then select import assets.
Browse your local device and click on the CSV file, then select open.
The assets will be imported to Jolt. This may take a minute.
Once complete, you will see a success message.
