Creating an audit template in the Jolt web app

An audit template is a special kind of list template with features such as follow-up actions and audit outcomes. If you are a company admin, content group admin, or location website admin, you can create, manage, and publish these templates.

  1. Log in to the Jolt web app and click on Audits & Inspections > Audit Templates.

  2. Select the plus button and click new audit.

  3. Give the audit a unique name, then click confirm to continue.

  4. Next, you will need to add questions. Click add item and choose the item type for each question (only yes/no, multiple choice, and custom rating items allow score).

  5. If you want tags applied to a specific location, you can customize this under the location field.

  6. To apply scoring, add a score group to items, which means tagged items will be scored as a group. You can also assign the importance of a tag. Please keep in mind that the score group and importance are only shown on the Leave Behind report.

  7. Next, you can add follow-up actions (this applies to yes/no and multiple-choice items).

  8. On a multiple-choice or yes/no item, scroll down to the answer set in the item details panel and click the more options button.

  9. Select the follow-up action checkbox to activate. Follow up actions will display on the mobile app after users answer the question it’s assigned to. If no follow-up is added, the auditor will be able to add them while performing the audit.

  10. Next, select the settings tab. On this page, you will see the location tags panel. Click the box next to the tag you want to use.

  11. Next, select the audits tab. On this page, you will see the audit outcomes, which are designations for scores in a specific range (e.g., a score of 95-100 could be set as “exceeds expectations”). Fill out the score above and outcome field.

  12. Click add score outcome and enter the minimum score for an outcome (e.g., 95 for “exceeds expectations) and repeat the last two steps until every outcome has been defined.

Note: You can use letters, numbers, or emojis in your outcome designation.

  13. One optional feature is the auto fail feature, which allows certain questions to automatically fail the audit, overriding the audit outcome.

  14. Select an auto fail flag (use an existing one or create a new one) and override outcome for when the flag is triggered, then go into each item on the audit that should receive the auto fail option by clicking more options on the answer that triggers the auto fail.

  15. Finally, click on the follow up list tab and set the default due date interval and expiration interval (these can always be modified after the list is created).

  16. Select save to apply changes.

Note: When published, audit templates are not available to your subscribers.
