This feature is available across web, iOS, Android, and desktop platforms and can be managed by users with Company, Content Group, or Location permissions.
How to manage online-only mode in the Jolt web app
Log in to the Jolt web app and navigate to company settings > device storage.
Deselect download files for offline use to enable online-only mode.
Hover over the green question mark icon for more information.
Click save to apply changes. This setting will apply to all content groups and locations unless overridden at a lower level.
You can also adjust the download files for offline use setting at the content group or location level (lower-level settings take precedence over higher-level ones).
How to manage online-only mode in the Jolt mobile app
Log in to the Jolt mobile app and navigate to settings > general.
Locate download files for offline use toggle button and turn this off to enable online-only mode.
All existing information library files will be deleted from the mobile device.
Next, navigate to the information library section in the mobile app and browse folders and file names.
Tap a file to view it (Jolt will fetch the file online).
If the device is online, the file opens as normal.
If the device is offline, you’ll see a message: “Info Library files are not available when the device is offline.”
In online-only mode, files viewed on the app will remain on the mobile device for 7 days from the time last accessed.
How to manage storage
Go to settings > about and tap on more options (three-dot menu)
Select clear storage and review the modal window before tapping clear.
A notification will confirm “storage cleared.”
To restore content for offline use, turn download files for offline use back on or perform an app reset in settings > about.
Note: You can upload files to the Information Library when the device is online. Uploading while offline is not confirmed. If attempted, an error or feedback message may appear.
Important notes
Changes take effect when devices sync with their assigned location
Turning off offline downloads deletes all Information Library files from the device
Files are only accessible when the device is connected to the internet in online-only mode.
Clearing storage only removes Information Library files; it does not affect other app data.
