Scenarios are a customizable alert that can be set up for your sensors on your account. The scenarios can be set up for a number of different situations that you would want to have a record of and be notified about. This could include temperatures being out of range, a sensor being disconnected, and much more! This article will walk you through the steps of setting up a scenario.
To begin setting up scenarios, log into jolt.com and then select SENSORS on the left side menu.
Select the SCENARIOS tab. Then select the CREATE SCENARIO button.
This will take you to your create scenario page. On this page, you will need to put in key information about the specific scenario you are trying to set up.
NAME THE SCENARIO
The scenario must have a name. It is best that this name explains the event that is occurring. As an example, "Freezer temp is too high" or "Battery level is low on sensor".
SET THE CONDITION
The condition section sets the category, limit, and range of the scenario you are trying to create. As an example, you can set the scenario alert to be triggered when the temperature of the sensor is above 32 degrees for over an hour.
From this section, you can select which roles within the account will be notified when this scenario is triggered. You also can choose if they will be notified through text, email, or both methods. You can then select if the notification will be sent at the start of the even, end of the event, or both the start and the end. You may also set multiple notifications for a single scenario.
The final step in setting up a scenario is to select which sensors this scenario will apply to. This drop down will show you all sensors within the location, or all sensors within the content group if you are in content group mode.
Select SAVE. The scenario will now be live. You will then be brought back to your scenarios main page which will now display your new scenario, along with all related settings for quick reference.
This completes the process of creating a scenario for your sensors. Keep in mind that you can create many scenarios for different situations. Repeat this process as needed.
